Tasted over several nights, this was like a “baby port” in that it had some of the characteristics of the classic wine, but slimmed down. Quite drinkable and not at all heavy, it carried its dark cherry fruit very well on a lightly tannic structure. I like the concept of a lighter red dessert wine, and the execution is spot on.

On the nose there is an immediate whiff of cherry and grape SweeTARTS. On the palate the red cherry dominates with a hint of cocoa and powerful tannin. Fun wine.

Not everyone agreed, but a second bottle was much better. It is a late harvest Cab Merlot blend I believe. The nose has cherries, and some liqueur notes. Slightly viscous, slightly sweet (the first bottle seemed almost dry). Not cloying. Quite tasty. Nice wine.

A really nice dessert wine. Not too sweet, but with a port-like quality and went very well with some double chocolate brownies. A great value too.

The nose was a bit muted but the palate had dry yet simultaneous ripe cherries & a dusty cocoa note. Not too sweet.
