This is a clear dark violet colored wine with some slight bricking on the edges. The flavor is dominated with black fruit (blackberry and black cherry). The body is full and the consistency is fleshy. This wine at 20 years of age has a developed complexity, and is certainly within its drinking window. It should drink well for another decade. There's crisp and moderate acidity to go along with some refined and chalky tannins. There's some satisfying bitterness on the finish. This is not the best vintage of Don Melchor that I've had, but I'm pleasantly surprised with how good this bottle was.

Lots of mushrooms and tertiary notes at first that dissipated after a 30-min decant. Still very evolved with forest notes, but the fruit is still a bit present, and that typical greenness from Chile / Argentina. Few tannins left. Good wine.

Drank beautifully when paired with NY strips. Decanted for 2 hours. At beginning, nose of leather, some floral hints with some dark fruit. Then when drinking tannins are smooth and finish lasts 25 plus seconds

So Bordeaux. Great nose. Great fruit. Drink up. Put it in a blind Bordeaux tasting and have some fun.

Very good, straight forward traditional Cabernet. Should have kept it for when my palate was fresh.
