I found this wine very pleasing. It lacked an overpowering grapefruit nose typical of NZ, and exhibited more of the grassy notes I prefer. The wine had thickened a little adding some complexity, thus it wasn't a straight citrus bomb. I enjoyed it.

From 75cl screwcap. Nearly at the end of its drinking window, this was the most disappointing of 8 bottles of this wine tasted over several years, especially in the context of a luminous, vibrant Cloudy Bay SB 2015 tasted a couple of days ago. Flat, complacent, generic and no bargain. 85-86P and fading

From 75cl screwcap. Simple straightforward SB with no bells or whistles. To my surprise, this lacked polish and poise compared to a 7 EUR cheaper Villa Maria SB 2016 tasted casually the other night. This is a more substantial wine, of course, and is still holding up well in its third year. 87P

Still nice enough to quaff over a few meals, tart apple, tropical notes, a little grassy, good polish and finish.

From 75cl screwcap, perfect storage since purchase on release. Now fading. Going, going... soon to be gone. 85P
