Not decanted, consumed over 1 1/2 hours. My main impression was of tart, clean red fruit, somewhere between raspberry candy and cranberry juice. There's some subtle peppery spice in the background, but the high acidity made it hard to access. I did enjoy this (moreso with food than on its own), but the balance seemed off for my palate...if this was a representative bottle, I probably wouldn't seek this out again.

Good ripeness and weight with true varietal character. Not much oak influence. Paired surprisingly well with German-spiced meatballs. Excellent wine for the price. I've been coming across of really high quality Loire reds recently for under $20.

I really like cab franc. And I liked this one. Good QPR at around $16. Classic floral notes, white pepper, nice,y astringent tannins. Not spectacular, but solid for what it is.

...classic Cab Franc; a little floral/fruit forward with a peppery spicy and clean, dry finish.
