  • Very, very good bottle of wine. Dark aubergine in color, this wine was not filtered and threw some sediment so if you don't like that you may want to decant. Aromas of plum and vanilla were echoed on the palate, which had some blueberry notes enter into as well. There was a grip in the mid-palate from toasty oak, and the texture was fairly silky. A nice substitute for pinot noir, it would go with almost anything you would have pinot with (pork, mushrooms). We had with sausage pasta with saffron.

  • Should have waited longer but pretty darn good for the $$. This is def getting better. More life in the mouth and a longer finish than I remember from previous bottles. The fruit is all there and the backbone is more present now. Will try to find some more for this price. BTW I'm writing this on day two and it is even better than yesterday.

  • Not bad but I expected more. This bottle was purchased in Portugal by S. Bricker. She brought it to dinner at our house. We has Lasagna. Of the 4 wine we had, this was # 2 in quality.

  • Reminds me of a cali Zin; very fruity, hightly extracted, good structure -- but a bit one dimensional. This wine is easy to drink, especially with heavy food. Loads of blueberry, touch of blackberry and cassis on a medium-long finish. Gained in complexity on the second day. Will stash a couple of bottles and try again in 5 years. $13=good QPR.
