  there is much to write about mme lalou leroy's d'auvenay, but i will keep it short here. this was a bottle of alienated chardonnay, everything you thought about your experience with fine chardonnay will be destroyed after this. not to be overly melodramatic, i still sensed the earthy, creamy popcorn flavor in my cavity the next morning and been mentally haunted for a few days. it was the power of this mighty 08 meursault craved a deep imprint that made me surrendering to her pedestal and believing she is my bacchus.

There was quite a bit of reduction on the nose, which was first thought of as sulfur. The nose had salt, flint and orange custard. There was so much acidity with lots of weight and power in the mouth with a touch of a plastic on the finish. This wine had a lot going on, but was still so primary that it was hard to identify. A fantastic wine, but was not as enjoyable as the '01 Coche Meursault in the line-up.
