Nose of cranberries, crabapple. translucent light....after 1.5 hours of air...becomes more integrated but changes the whole time. tart cranberries, a bit watery, tar, tannic finish. Burgundy is a bit lost on me in a linear fashion...what I just described doesn't sound good...but the wine is. funny.

2015 New York Wine Experience Trip; 10/19/2015-10/27/2015 (New York City, NY): This light-to-medium red/garnet wine opens within the first 30 minutes to show a beautiful, evolved nose. With a core of red cherry and plum fruit, it offers nuances of cocoa, leather, dry earth and apricot. Medium-bodied and with medium acidity, it presents similar flavors in a supple frame. The tannins have largely resolved at this point and the wine's alcohol (listed as 12.5%) is perfectly integrated. Picking up depth in the middle and closing with good length, this fully mature Burgundy is definitely in its "sweet spot." It should be at its best over the next two years. Drink now-2017.

This needs an hour or two to open up. It started out a little too leathery at first, but after two hours it settled down. There is a slight aroma of leather with flavors of cherry and cranberries. Decant this one for best results.

Wine was corked. Slight green discoloration on the cork and a distinct sour flavor.
