Wine is dark purple to black. Opaque. Wine is oil slick bright. Not a terribly expressive nose. Oak, black fruits, pepper. Massive attack of black berries, black currants, leather, tobacco, dark chocolate, espresso. Some initial heat that blows off with air time. Round chewy tannins, long finish, full body massive wine. Mountain fruits. Well structured and balanced, i found this to be a lot more interesting that what i am reading below. This can age and become even softer and more elegant with time but drinking quite nice with a decant right now. Good value.

This was drastically overshadowed by the 2013 Myriad GIII. Good stuff in its own right, but nothing special. Definitely had some black pepper and some oak on the finish.

Almost in the 'sweet red' or 'black wine' category and a bit like The Prisoner, but just a touch more complexity, the color is dark purple/black, with aromas of baked black fruit and oak. Palate shows some bramble and spice, blackberry compote, vanilla and some oak in a very fruity blend (Cab, Merlot, Malbec, Syrah and Zin) that seems to emphasize the Zin in the mix. Not my palate, but for fans of the style, quite enjoyable and well-crafted. Tannins are present, but not grippy.

Deep and dark, seems made for easy enjoyment, nothing complex a bit sweet but in its own way very tasty.

There is something in this wine that I think isn't to my tastes. It had a hint of Beaujolais and that is a wine varietal I just don't find appealing!
