Wow, did this wine evolve nicely since last tasted six years ago. Was not expecting much, possibly even being undrinkable. Fruit profile remains present while tannins tamed. Double filtered due to heavy sediment. Particularly special to share with friends in light of Behrens Winery's recent Glass Fire destruction.

My third and last bottle was worse than the one I opened a year ago. The cork was fine, with only 1/4" or so of saturation, and the nose was promising. But the wine itself was tart and vinegary, and we dumped it. Very disappointing.

Note there appears to be significant bottle variation. Tonight’s bottle was okay but had none of the power that marked my previous experience with this wine. Cork had no problems.

What a powerhouse. Unlike other recent reviewers, the cork in my bottle was fine. Almost black. Immensely deep and concentrated with great intensity and smooth tannins. A PS lover’s delight.

Redtooth113 foretold my experience. 14 year old petite sirah with a failing cork that had to be picked out of the wine. Used my Vinturi to filter out the cork fragments and the sediment. The wine was fantastic: black color, great intensity, enormous concentration and depth. If you have some, drink it NOW.
