  • Just keeps getting better and better, age 11 now on vintage and as fresh and complex as ever, with softer tannins and more complexity in the last 2 years. This is a great label, and right up there with the S's and O's of the Bolgheri Superiores.

  • Eye: deep, medium+ intensity, mostly ruby-violet with a cherry hint.
Nose: pure, bright, intense and complex, with a medium development. Many of black berries and fruits: plum, blackberry, blackberry pie, cassis. After 10 minutes of aeration in the glass appears red berries: ripe cherry, raspberry, even strawberry. After all the species: vanilla, cinnamon, red and black pepper.
Palate: strong, round and balanced. The wine is full-bodied with bursting fruity long aftertaste. Many of ripe berries and red fruits on the finish. Acidity is good and keep the palate still young.

After 30-40 minutes of aeration starting appears tobacco and "earthly" notes. For this wine will be good future!

Conclusion: I should say that this wine slightly overdone in the style of "fruity bombs". "Finesse", as the main feature of fine wines little lost behind this intense and bursting style. But after all the wine reveal it's terroir.

  • Initially a bit disjointed with loads of (over)ripe fruit, even a bit plummy and a very strong cocoa/coffee-driven bitter finish. After an hour or two the Arnione got much more settled, though. The fruit continuously integrated more and more and the wine got a lot more elegant. It is still (and always will be) a quite powerful wine that probably has to seen a little too much oak but if you have some bottles they are (with a bit of patience) very enjoyable today.

  • inky color, sensuous nose of plum and cherry and violet. Powerful, you can taste the alcohol, but still balanced. Long finish. Best with food. 40% cab, 20% merlot, 20% cab franc, 20% petit verdot.

Dezente Frucht.
Zuerst im Mund süssliche Noten, dann intensiv Süssholz. Im Abgang Mokka. Er mahnt an einen Margaux.
Alles in allem sehr schön. Muss nicht mehr länger gelagert werden.
