The Cabernet is coming through nicely on the nose with notes of graphite, eucalyptus, dark fruit. A bit of oak and spices on the nose, too. On the palate fresh, lots of structure, grippy tannins, drying finish. 88-90

Medium garnet red. Slightly earthy on the nose with light red cherries, dried savory herbs and pencil shavings. Solid acidity that is not overpowering. Moderate tannins (5/10) and medium body at max. A little rustic but started full of cherries. Sour cherries and minerality throughout. A medium finish with a touch of metalicness.

As others have stated, this veers towards the generic I can be anything you want me to be house red. No sense of place. I would have no idea what this is blind. I'm assuming 60/40 sangio cab but who knows. All that said, there is nothing I hated about the wine. And probably a buy at 20 bucks. I have a 1990 in my cellar. I'm not sure what that will be like.

Light on the palate, well balanced, acidic, light strawberry, licorice and soft tannins.

Cabernet brings good power, Sangiovese gracefulness and elegance. Good combination, softly starting to mature. Very enjoyable.
