  • Burnished opaque maroon color. Bretty like the last bottle opened in late 2020, but much more evolved. Heavy wine, low acid with some asphalt notes in the dark cherry closer to syrah in a Northern Rhone style than what I hope for from Oregon pinot. Would have gone well with lamb stew but was a bit OTT for a sipper.

  • Bothersome brett did not blow off; dark fruit and heavy with lower acidity than hoped for. Drinkable but not loveable.

  • Wait. Too young but incredible aromatics and great focus. This is gonna be a Beaty.

Dark resinous cherry with eucalyptus and silky tannins. More body than expected. Dark in color. Olive. Intense concentration in the mid palate. This is a very serious wine. Hold off.

  • Previous note by CHCOOK hit it perfectly. Upon opening, just a touch of peat bog funk, which blew off quickly. Dark opaque violet in the glass, with bold fruit, good complexity, and tart acids. Although the 13.0% alcohol, acidity, and minerality are appealing, the relatively forward style and faint tones of strawberry hard candy prevents me from a more favorable rating.

  • pnp. this had sulfite whiff so decanted. that helped but it took about an hour for that to blow off. after it did there was cherry cola and five spice. swishing shows tart acid and spice with mild/mod tannin on the med length finish. this was a bit heavy to start but with air started to lighten up. sipping at first showed a wine heavier in style than expected, but with time lightened and became more recognizable as pinot. suspect that this density is a consequence of the vintage. will give my remaining bottles a little time before revisiting.
