Jim Barry Tasting (Vintage Cellars, Double Bay): Generic black fruit and chocolate, backed by cedar and spice, cream and vanilla. In the mouth there are flavours of cherry and currant, savoury mid palate with chalky slightly drying tannins, a slight bitterness and an almost burnt coffee note, it's a bit disjointed for me.

Light, perfumed nose of root beer, plus hints of musk and black fruit. Palate shows candied flavours of blackberry, oak, musk, and cola. Hard acid provides balance, but there's no depth.
