  • Classic claret colour, little sign of brick or water on the edge. Clear feynbos mixes with traditional bordeaux blend nose. Full rich mouth feel. Oomph without any cloying. Excellent integration of acid tannin and fruit. Dry finish but without massive complexityCould well last another 5 years

  • Deep- black to crimson edges. Good aromatic intensity showing blackcurrants, creme de cassis, black cherry paste, gentle oak spices and vanilla. A richly textured palate with more stewed, preserved fruits and secondary elements of chocolate, vanilla pod and spice. Cocoa powder tannins, fair extraction with a crisp lemon acidity offset by the sweet core of fruit. Very drinkable, still quite oaky but bags of blackcurrant fruit and starting to complex.

  • From magnum. Great nose, intense, black fruit, pleasant oak, spices. On the palate, soft tannins, great balance, good structure, dense, again dark fruit, vanilla, spices, ripe but fresh, great length. Great now, can probably hold for a few more years (magnum). Excellent wine.

  • Deep red-black to rim.
Intense, boosted aromas of sweet oak spices, soft red plum, mint, vanilla pod and blackcurrant coulis.
A cool entry with light powdery texture and a wealth of fleshy fruit at its core: cassis, vanilla ice cream, blackberry, licorice and more. The oak spices are present but well-integrated; there is a richness and depth to the wine and a long creamy finish showing fully resolved tannins. Overall the wine is a polished, relatively densely structured wine with lively acidity to balance. Showing very nicely at the moment, there is that delightful balance of freshness against that richer, sweet kernel of vanilla-edged fruit. Perhaps my only criticism is that it didn't have that much complexity.
