We've had a few bottles of this recently and I've noticed some differences between various bottles. All have been enjoyable but a few have been on the extreme side of austere. Medium bodied with pronounced straw and nut aromas and flavors to go along with some apple and lemon. Not a crowd pleaser.

Certainly didn't come off as new world, if that was the intent, but this came off as austere. Apple and citrus notes. The acidity was so high and so bitter I couldn't find the fruit easily.

We chose to sip this nice Italian-inspired, Napa-produced Chardonnay while lunching at Orange Tree (http://www.gastronaughties.com/orange-tree/) during Restaurant Week in Hong Kong. Darkish green yellow. Citrus, vanilla and hints of oak on the nose. Fresh, slightly tarty, touch of oak and citrus on the palate. Medium finish. Relatively straight-forward, light Chardonnay for Napa. Antica started in 2006. Short form of Antinori and California.

Malolactic in the nose but subtle in taste, low oak, nuttiness in flavor with caramel finish

Medium bodied, crisp, stern, steely style of Chardonnay.
