Coconut, pineapple, creme brûlée with a noticeable hit of lemon curd once on the palate. There's a nice delicate balance of fruit and oak here. Excellent wine.

Lighter golden color. Nose: lemon curd, pineapple soufflé, Asian pear, and white peach with accents of orange blossom, tangerine zest, vanilla wafer, hazelnut, toffee, nutmeg, white pepper, and chalk. Medium/full body on the palate: lemon curd, pineapple, Asian pear, and white peach framed by vanilla wafer, hazelnut, nutmeg, toffee, tangerine zest, lime zest, white pepper, and chalk. Medium acidity. Lingering pear/apple skin, hazelnut husk, citrus zest, white pepper, and toothpick on the moderate/long finish. Expressive fruit with good balance and seductive oak tones. Pair with a cheese board, butter poached lobster, seared scallops, whole baked chicken, or white bean cassoulet. Drink over the next 3-4 years.

Very solid on day one, super on day two. Lots to love here with nice minerality (more than I have seen from SLH before), clean acidity, and just enough oak for a well rounded package. Probably not scoring this one high enough, I will try another bottle in a year or so and probably feel a higher score makes sense with a bit more cellar time.
