  • Deep golden color. Rich nose of graham cracker, membrillo and bruised apricot. Intense palate loaded with horseradish, sweet cling peaches, and yuzu. This may be turning the corner as it isn't as complex as I remember. That said, it is certainly in fine shape and shows no overt signs of excessive age. Drink now-2025 91

After reading my previous review, I must say there is persimmon here in flavor and in a slight astrignency. Candied ginger too.

  • Deep golden/yellow color. Beautiful nose of beeswax and lanolin, bruised pears, apricot skin and . Wow, the first sip really wakes up your palate! Medium-full bodied and quite dry with gently tugging tannin. Loaded with flavor, this has a sour/lactic yogurt character as well as bruised pit fruits, hints of persimmon and a faint hint of horseradish. Candied ginger too! What an interesting wine! This has good intensity with a lingering finish! Truly excellent and shows no sign of decline. Drink now-2025+? 94

  • well lauded producer, and there is richness and concentration, with ample yellow apple and balanced oxidation ( it's there but not excessive) but i found the wine to be too soft, and lacking in the brilliance and excitement that chenin can have when not overripe. guess is that they pushed the maturity just a little too far.

  • This has aged into a medium-golden color. Rich nose of baked honey and membrillo, oyster shell and wax. The palate is still intense and focused with more baked honey and quince but with a core of persimmons, dried apricots and lemon/lime! This is concentrated and is now fully mature but capable of lasting a few more years. Drink now-2024. 92
