18 months 20% new French oak. Nose shows juicy darkness, blackberry juice, fresh but sour earth, white pepper, a little jammy. Palate has notes of game, chocolate, black fruits, black pepper, tannins not huge, easy drinking style with lots of fruit.
270 cases made.

Tasted at the winery. Medium dark red. Fruit forward nose and flavors. Not your classic, chewy, meat orientated syrah. This is a more approachable stand alone syrah. I have other wines if I want a steak, this one would complement a sweeter fare such as barbeque ribs, pulled pork, etc.

Vintage 2014 - Wine and Film Pairing (The Mod - Phoenix, AZ): Weak nose. The palate is fruit-forward with boysenberry, red cherry and sweet raspberry with a buttery finish. Medium-high acidity. Watery mouth-feel. Medium tannins. Very simple profile. I was disappointed by this wine. Carr produces some wonderful single vineyard Syrahs, but this missed the mark.
