  • WSET Level 4 Course - WSET School; 9/6/2014-5/23/2015 (WSET School, Bermondsey): Appearance: The wine is Clear with a Medium Ruby colour.
Nose: The nose is Clean and Youthful , showing Medium(-) intensity primary aromas of redcurrant, confected fruits, red berry.
Palate: The wine is Dry in the mouth with a Medium level of acidity. It has Low Coarse tannins and a Medium Level of alcohol (12.5%). It has Medium body and Medium(-) intensity primary flavours of redcurrant, confected fruits, red berry. The finish is Medium.
Overall: The wine is clean and flavours are of simple red fruits which are confected in nature. However, the wine is not very complex, although it does show some good typicity for merlot based entry level red Bordeaux wines .The palate is quite light and lacking the substance of a very good claret. This makes it good, rather than very good
Conclusion: It is a Good quality wine. Drink Now; not suitable for Ageing or Further Ageing. The wine lacks the concentration and tannins structure for ageing ; Inexpensive (£ 4.99 )
