Found this forgotten in the wine cellar and thought, "Why not?!!". Plastic cork. Nice fragrance on pouring. Wine is a medium garnet with an amber and orange rim; shows some age but still looks OK. Smells pretty good, too! Slightly reticent aroma of cranberries, mineral/crushed stones, not particularly focused but not flabby either; greatly improves over time … in fact, after being frozen for a week, the defrosted version still delights; the last pour is the best with a bit of sediment and tannin crystals. Fragrance is deep and penetrating with plum skin, dark cherry, hint of citrus pith, crushed rocks, underbrush, and a hint of tangy orange peel. Nicely astringent on entry with cranberry fruit and a slightly bitter herbal cherry pit finish that is food friendly and tasty; definitely an acidic mouth feel but also racy with citrus pith energy and a medium fruit forward personality with plenty of mineral/stony substance; balanced between acids and fruit; I am liking this very much! Softens a bit with time in the glass. The last glass is wonderful with rich, intense, brambly fruit, tangy acidity and tannic grip – pretty amazing for a Nouveau!!! Crying out for a nice roast chicken!

Fruity, vibrant, and light, it's full of raspberries, strawberries, hibiscus, and a lick of salt. It's inexpensive and matches almost any food you pair it with. How can anyone not like Beaujolais?

We each had a glass and poured the rest down the sink. Every few years I think we should have one of these, then we actually do, and after a few years my memory fades and we do it again...

Loosen up people. It is what it is. Simple, fresh, clean and fun. Will not overly impress anybody but how can you hate it?

Pale garnet in the glass, aromatic fruit forward nose, palate of cherry, cranberry and red berries. Nice Nouveau showing promise for the 2014 vintage.
