Sometimes WineBid experiments lead to a new and exciting discovery; sometimes they lead to wines like this. Based on a good question from #1WineLover, I'm just going to call this a bad bottle. I'd never heard of the producer, and the flaws seemed to be more in winemaking than storage - but that's a hard line to taste.
For what it's worth (very little), here's the review: This boozy and ripe Cabernet is all over the place - fruity and syrupy, with a streak of alcohol that becomes obvious after an hour or so of air. This was defensible after opening; it's not after an hour.
Cherry red in color and full in body, the wine has aromas of blueberry, gravel, and petrol. Tastes of blackberry, plum, and leather, with a brief and sweet finish. 14.5% alcohol. This has none of the nuance or depth that the Sleeping Lady Vineyard can offer, regardless of your style preference (e.g., Ad Vivum to Fait Main). This is the kind of grapey wine your neighbor might make and then offer to you: you would nod politely, but you'd never pay money for it. If I'm rating, it's an 86.
