  • Very nice, kept evolving throughout the 4 hours it was opened. Did not decant. Red fruits, from griottes to red currant, leather, soy sauce, mushrooms , almonds, smoke and pepper. Tannins were astringent in the first two hours but after the food (shepperd's pie) has softened it down and wine is fully opened. High acidity, high tannins, full bodied dry red wine with high but integrated alcohol. Medium + finish. Wouldn't have thought that St Chinian would age that graciously !
