  • Drunk on the 26th of december with some fat Christmas food. It handled the food-challenge well, had a lovely nose, intense and fruitful. The taste was a little bit boring at first, though balanced, but I suspect this was due to it being served too cold. When it warmed up the fruit and alcohol became more prominent in a positive way. A good glass of wine, but did not strike me as quite as impressive as at my last tasting in November.

  • Rhone nose of horse stable, violets, blueberries, and allspice. Energetic, fruit-forward. Full bodied. Blueberry ice cream palate, with wild horse stable undertones. Earthy, lingering dry finish. I am now pretty sure Cristia makes the best Cotes du Rhone (though I have yet to try Coudoulet de Beaucastel).
