  • quite complex. very good qpr. dark amber in color. with floral and sweet fruits notes, reminds me of an aged sauternes but with certain edges. it certainly went through oak maturation and thus show some spicyness. viscous in the mouth. a lot of raisin and apricot, medium finish

  • Inflight, Thai Air.
The best in-flight Cognac I've enjoyed so far in Economy.

Even in the plastic cup, it spreads its beautiful aromas wide and far. Beautifully dark amber. Nose: Orange, jasmine, tea, toffee and just simply complex enough. Palate: Alcohol sticks out a little, but it's overall a smooth and well-behaved Cognac with plenty of personality. Long and satisfying.

Quite an amazing combo with Deadpool and Deadpool 2: utter insanity pairs very well with refinement.

Actually looking forward to the return flight :-)

  • A youngish VSOP with plenty of spirit and toasty oak on the nose, and touch of marmalade and spice. More on the palate, with some raisin/sultana, dried apricot, tobacco. Nice enough for its age but serviceable rather than special I think.

  • WSET Level 4 Course - WSET School; 9/6/2014-5/23/2015 (WSET School, Bermondsey): Appearance: This is clear with a medium amber colour.
Nose: The nose is clean showing pronounced intensity aromas of raisins, sultanas, marmalade, tangerines, toast, cedar, spice. This is short-aged.
Palate: This is dry in the mouth with warming alcohol. It has a medium body and pronounced intensity flavours of raisins, sultanas, marmalade, tangerines, toast, cedar, spice. The finish is long and some complexity.
Conclusion: It is a very good quality spirit. Well balanced with very well integrated alcohol. Premium Pricing (£35.99)

  • Tried on the flight home from Bangkok with Thai Air.

Glass dark earthy amber to almost like light black tea. Impressive floral nose over raspberry, licorice and cinnamon. Remotely smoky. On the palate eucalyptus, cinnamon and a slight chili attack to the tip of the tongue. Considerable length with a chewing gum note in the aftermath of the eucalyptus.

Not bad at all, but I guess I don't like cognac too much. The White it was distilled from can't have been so bad, why spoil it ?
