Translucent - clear light ruby - clean shy cranberry, plum, iron, soil aromas atop the burgundy chlorophyll’d fresh spring grass - tart and tinny - working nicely with short ribs and a salad of pea shoots and watercress but not as successful as a loner.

Drunk over two nights. The aroma in a Zalto Burgundy glass is intoxicating but a hint of disappointment follows on the palate. A tasty wine but I was just a little bit underwhelmed and expected a little more complexity and nuance from a 10 year old 1er Cru Volnay from a very good producer. I think I'm being picky though..

55F since acquisition - restrained nose and tight palate - bitter underripe notes dominate night 1 first half bottle on night 2 enough fresh red cranstrawcherry fruit awakened to partially clothe the underripe bitter core. I have a few more - I ghinkbI won’t another for a few years.

Deep red- shy nose initially that soon opened up to be extroverted if not billowing - red plum, fresh flowers, faintly smoke, faint umami - soy and mushroom style. Velvety rich mouthfeel with tart acids and ultrafine spicy tannins. This is turning out very nicely with a modicum of age.

Very soft and feminine. Not much to it. Pair with fish or perhaps more complexity will evolve overtime.
