This is a lovely, elegant burgundy with balance, finesse, and length. It only disappoints in the bouquet, which is nice but rather simple and faint. On the palate it has satin shifting into velvet on the palate, silky tannins on the cheeks - a designer's workshop of fabrics. It does not make a peacock's tail in the mouth, but it is exceedingly pleasant, making it almost impossible not to take another sip, and why in the world would one not want to? This was great at 20 years and had plenty of time in hand. A very classy wine. I have had a number of Grand Crus that were not as good.

NYC Group does Pinots (NYC): Burgundy funk on the nose. Minerals, earth, and some nice cherry notes. Long finish, but it seemed to have shut down with some air. Needs more time in the bottle?

Courcel/ Chanson Tasting with Gilles de Courcel (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Mature red fruit with subtle spice. Lighter styled for the vintage, everything is in balance, but without the power or nuance I'd expect.
