Falltacular 2016; 2/18/2017-2/20/2017 (FMIII in the OC): Nose has a bit of diesel, would have guessed something like a Riesling. Not a distinctive Chardonnay profile. Fruity sweet pear and medium plus oak through the finish. This was up against some tough competition.

Nice surprise... Light yellow color, on the nose: melon, apricot, butter scotch - all in good proportions and not too aggressive. Similar nice palate, good balance, medium finish, really surprising quality, especially for under $15 price. Got couple of these and I think they will be even better in a year or two.

A Few Blind Cali Whites (My Place - Washington, DC): Clear, light gold color. Aromatically, we’re dealing with some green melon, yellow apples, drizzled with a bit of lemon, underneath it all a sense of buttercream and almond shells. Moderate creaminess on the palate, medium acid, the yellow apple and apricot fruit is rich but accented by hints of lemon-lime. Almond, honeycomb, some toasted biscuits flavors. Moderate length, not very deep but a solid Chardonnay. Mostly oak-fermented, and aged in 30% new oak.

Finally, a true California Chardonnay. 80% Monterey - 20% Napa. Very balanced in the oak (30% new) and the buttery notes. lots of fruit aromas in the nose Elegant and overall a great value
