Arthrovine nailed the tasting notes for me, more than three years later! Clean mountain air with a hint of pit smoker is a perfect descriptor, even now. For my palette, this is a lovely mature coastal syrah - it's much lighter bodied than you would think, but the finish is long and wonderful. I am writing this on Day 2, but when I woke up this morning, I could still taste that lovely meaty syrah. This is great winemaking!

Popped and poured. Last glass at 4 hours showed best
The wine possesses shy aromas of dark red fruit, clean mountain air with a hint of pit smoker, and some savory herb. Flavors spread across the palate including smokey meat, red/dark berry, and sage. Gorgeous lithe mouth feel with light tannin and acids firming up on the long finish. This is pure savory Sonoma. Love this wine. Nice job Kurt. I can't wait for my 15s to mature.

Clear and pretty magenta color with blueberries on the light nose (pop and pour). Tastes of blue fruit, white pepper, and ends with a touch of orange peel. There is earth and beef jerky notes in there if you look for it. Tingling acids prick the tongue (in a good way). Medium mouth feel. No alcohol burn/heat. Nice finish although not particularly long. Elegant style of Syrah from a cooler climate (especially compared to the Herman Story Nuts and Bolts I had yesterday). Definitely food friendly. Would be great with some duck confit.
I was looking forward to revisiting this wine after our tasting in April. I'm happy to see the white pepper note that I remembered is still there because you never know how wine will taste when you bring it home.
