This was a bit much for me tonight...it's something you really need to be in the mood for. Lots of powerful dark fruit, and just as much intense oak flavor. Perhaps it will mellow a bit with time?

A blend of 48% Merlot, 33% Syrah, 17% Malbec, and 2% Petite Verdot. This fruit driven blend is dominated by notes of black & red cherries and vanilla. Holding this for a few years might mellow the intensity of the fruit however one gets the sense that this wine is meant to be drank in the near term. Nothing too complex here however a nice value for around $20 and should be a crowd pleaser in most circles.

Lifted nose of briary fruit and dill accented by barrel notes and heat. Sweet and velvety mixed fruit up front with a good dose of acid, and a fairly dry short-medium finish. Its a big wine no doubt, but the oak and fruit are equally pronounced. 88-89
