Consistent with previous notes almost two years ago, though opened up after 20-min this time. Medium weight. Honeydew, melon, lemon curd, honeysuckle, and hints of lime and tangerines with a one-minute finish. Paired awesome with broiled lemon salmon. Custom-built for seafood. Drink 2019-2024. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92.

A private lunch (Restaurant Tribeca **, Heeze, NL): A pretty rare wine - only 3% of production at this 38ha Domaine is white. It is a blend of 60% Clairette, roughly equal parts of Ugni Blanc and Bourboulenc, and a little (3%) Marsanne. Clay and limestone soils, aged for 8-10 months in small oak barrels. Complex nose with subtle aromas of fennel, bergamot, white peach, flower honey and smoky minerals, good depth; soft but fresh palate, mineral and silky and rounded, beautifully balanced, zesty bitters, citrus flavours (meyer lemon, orange, lime); light finish, very good length.

AB Christmas Bash (Chez Bruce, London): Pale straw. Nose initially quite mute as per the 2011 earlier in the day, but opens to a pithy apricot-scented fruit kernel nose. Relatively light and fresh with a nicely waxy texture. Decent line. Attractive. Worked well as an aperitif. ***

Opened and let air 20-min before dinner of pan fried garlic sole, aspargus, and grains. Really opened up after a few hours. Pale yellow with an amber hue around the edges. Nose is somewhat restrained, but brings subtle notes of white flowers, honeyuckle, lemon meringue pie, and tangy tangernines. The palate is medium-light, round, concentrated, and creamy, bringing fresh apricots, oranges, grapefruits, kiwi-lime, and green apples into the finish, which delivers a fresh lemon zest and juicy nectories that lasts 30-seconds. The weight, density and viscosity of the mid-palate is quite impressive for such a light-bodied wine. Still youthful and will likely improve through 2024. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 92.

Pleasant, yet also very delicate and mild. Best without food.
