  Complex wine starts out with notes of reduction, but evolves in glass. Everything from peppered beef jerky to bay leaf and currant on the pronounced nose. The palate is surprisingly dry and balanced with good acidity and grip. Does not have the finesse or silky body of better wines, but drinks above the price easily.

  Bold, brambly, smoky, earthy bouquet. Concentrated, dense, purple to black in color. Mineral ores, currant, bramble, smoke, with hints of bacon dominate. Very good mouthfeel, rippin' acids, medium tannin, satisfying finish. Much, much better than the 2010 vintage.
