Certainly not a typical style, which may be a mix of the vintage and the producer. Several others have noted this as thin - by the standards of CNDP that is certainly true, but it's hardly austere or unpleasant. The fruit is definitely on the tangy side, with a freshness lacking ripeness. That being said, nothing green here. It's a very nice red wine that you wouldn't necessarily be able to place, which is perhaps the biggest problem with it. If you picked it up for £14 you'd be very happy with it, but not at the price and name it's being sold for.

Very thin and acidic for a CNDP retailing at over £20. It did have quite a lot of fruit when drunk 4 years after bottling, with a mixture of red and brambly fruit flavours however it lacked any complexity and depth of flavour.

Had this again next to 2 other CdPs in a blind tasting for a friend. It has a light colour, almost transparent and a fruity nose with classic Pape pepperiness. On the palate this a smooth bodied wine, juicy, with good cherry, currant and plum fruits and more pepper, spice and a touch of herbal earthiness. Not a hugely complex wine its nicely balanced, but tastes it's age. Finish is medium. For the price this is a very pleasant drop

first taste is alcohol, thin, a nasty earthiness, just bad wine especially for this region
