After aging 17 years at 54 F, then decanted for 3 hours, tasted almost no fruit forward but smooth integrated tannins and nice balance. Paired well with grilled rib eye steak. Drink now! Must decant at least 3 hours.

Warmed up in the glass, this wine has a superbly caressing texture combined with dense and mouthcoating boysenberry and blackberry fruit, all well structured by bright acidity and ample rounded tannins. Nothing harsh, backward, green, or austere at all. Tasted beside the current release of the best Malbec O. Fournier makes at nearly 3 times the price, the consensus was that while the 2010 Alfa Crux Malbec might age into a better wine, the well aged Norton was more enjoyable.

This is a good Malbec, but probably past its prime. A bit weak overall, and struggling to find any defining notes.
Good for a weeknight at home. Drink soon.
