Really nice. Balanced tannins and acidity. Borders on over Oaked but doesn’t fall over the edge. We consumed this outside it’s tasting window and it was beginning to show its age.

Nose: Dark fruits, tight, There's a green olive, maybe even pyrazine-y component here. It almost smells like a Loire cab franc. Youthful. Earth-Driven in nature. Black fruits - blackberries, dark turned earth. Bitter stemminess.
Palate: Full-bodied, elevated alcohol (14.5%) Medium acid, high tannins - scratchy, green, stemmy tannins. Oak: Slight oak - maybe used. Not a ton of new oak. Faint baking spices.
Conclusions: High tannins, faint herbaceous character, some new oak. Toasty spice. but well-integrated. Cabernet - California, Washington, Malbec - would be from Cahors - probably wouldn't have oak.
So despite the lack of intense fruit and the amount of earth, I'm going new world - higher alcohol, deep color. Malbec - it wouldn't be this tannic, probably. Also oak.
So I'm going California, Cabernet, from a cooler climate - maybe Washington or a mountain vineyard. (cooler climate because of the green bell pepper pyrazine notes.). Super aggressive tannins.
California Cabernet - Carneros. relatively youthful, 2012 (given the oak aging.) This is just super structured. This is high-quality. $60-100.
Matt - This is textbook Napa Cab.

Dark black fruit, not overoaked or alcoholed, but also not my preference.

Drank one of these about 6 months ago and thought it was ok. Drank a second one this week and liked it much better.
