  • Quite interesting with an extrovert, sparkling nose. Deep. Still a little oak.

  • From magnum opened in the morning decanted and poured back into bottle, decanted again at dinner. This started to open up slowly but surely and had a lovely floral nose with a refined palate. Some oak but starting to integrate. Quite delicious and approachable

  • Ripe black fruits, almost vosne like exotic spice and floral notes, concentrated. There is a bit tannin and finish is slightly raw for this level.

  • Got this off the list at Nicolas. PnP'ed, but decanted rest of bottle (after 1st round of pour into glass). Mildly perfumed with dark cherries, but got more & more floral while gravitating towards slightly brighter red tones with touch of violets too. Nice (fruit) intensity with complexity on the palate that kept developing (notes of smoke, earth, plums) throughout the evening/dinner. Savoury, esp. with the meat courses. Silky, long finish. Delicious!

  • Friday French dinner at Maison Dakota. Drank in Conterno Sensory. Already aired in bottle 2 hours beforehand, but still needed another 2+ hours to show better. Initial austerity.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medum+ intensity, with aromas of mild floral perfume, red cherries, darker red cherries emerging, stony minerality with air, and a hint of tar. Developing.
On the palate, dry, juicy high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of fine red cherries, darker red cherries, sweet red plum, stony minerality in the background. Finally after more air, salty savoury meat and salty minerality emerges. Long clean polished finish with clear edges.
Very good quality. Old guard wine that probably needs more time to build up. Lacks the flair of the newer vintages. Still a good wine, just not immediately impressive.
