Small Tasting & Dinner with Friends: From magnum. Deep inky color with notes of mocha, vanilla, blue fruit and barbecue sauce. Rich, with loads of black fruit across the palate. Hints of pepper as well. Excellent. (R&D)

Still drinking really well although I would drink any bottles in next year or two. Fascinating to see an Napa Syrah age and develop secondary flavors versus the big fruit bomb this wine was upon release.

Very dark plum, cabernet-like color. This is a big wine. Concentrated and extracted. Good density. I can tell this is a pricey wine. It feels like Cabernet Sauvignon but there is some freshness surrounding all that hugeness. A bit spicy too. Some pepper. Tannins are under control, quite tame. It is delineated and focused, with medium acid and great length. It went well with rack of pork loin in Peruvian asado sauce. It definitely matched the spice. Great effort.

Opened for 2 hours prior to drinking. Inky, black in color. Some initial barnyard funk which quickly left. Black fruit evident with a touch of spice and pepper. Excellent finish. This wine is drinking so nicely now.

Left to breathe in the bottle for 3 hours. Identical to my previous TN. Fabulous Syrah with great intensity and complexity. At its' peak right now and worth seeking out. Should continue at this level for several years.
