When I first tasted after opening, I was leaning toward some of the lower scores, but as one reviewer noted, this wine really blossoms with pizza. Bumped up my review as a result.

Stewed, overcooked fruit and a distinct sour aspect. I've had other bottles of Nero d'Avola and this one was entirely different. I'll open one more but if it's the same I'll either give them away or pour them out.

Have now drank over 10 bottles and each time, I give it a second chance and each time it's bad. My wife refuses to drink it and we drink some bad wines if we have to. First few bottles was sure it was bad and just a bad batch. Received a few more bottles in a blind wine gift box. Same result. Bad bad bad.

Thin and hard. Not very enjoyable but drinkable. A bit better with traditional Italian food. Overall just very uninspiring. My guess would be over-cropped.

In keeping with some other reviewers, we found it thin and tart, verging on sour, and not in keeping with other bottles we've had of Nero d'Avola.
