Surprisingly deep colour of immature hue. Clean very attractive nose. Mouthfeel still immature, rather firm, although tannins are not at all bitter. Rather good and will definitely improve, though possibly not fast. If I were giving a numerical mark I wouldn't be quite as high as the 93s that a few people have awarded.

Chambolle-themed lunch at SSG. Tasted blind. Drank in Grassl Cru. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, bright ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of fresh bright red flowers, roses, sexy fragrance, red cherries, underlying stony minerality. Developing. on the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of fruity red cherries, sweet floral spices, stony minerality. Long finish. Very good quality. Lovely Chambolle nose. Palate still relatively primary at the moment. Should have some good development with a few more years on it.

Medium ruby colour. Young. Aroma of ripe black cherry, raspberry, licorice, wet stone, toast, cloves. Bright acidity, grippy tannin, light weight but with good intensity. Similar flavour profile as on nose. Layered and quite long. Needs time, good potential.

Excellent Chambolle from a classic vintage. Still quite firm and slowly opening up. Bouquet of sour cherry drops, menthol and some rubber. It is medium bodied, refreshing and inspiring. The tannins have still quite some grip, I guess it will nicely develop for another decade and drink well until 2035.

Excellent Chambolle with even bigger depth than my last tasting note. A rare find in this overheated burgundy market.
