  • This sparkling wine was light to medium yellow/golden in colour, with medium intense and medium fine perlage. It had a toasty nose of citrus, baked apple, almond, nuts and brioche. On the palate the wine showed citrus, apple, almond, hazelnut and brioche, with creamy mousse, medium-level acidity and average length. A very toasty, medium-bodied, balanced and easy-drinking sparkling wine that would benefit from a little more freshness. Good, if a little boring, but drinking well.

  • Une bouche de patisseries , de levures et de pommes.
Bien brioche comme gout et je l'ai trouvé bien vif et plaisaint.
Pas le plus long par contre mais bien fait.

  • A blend of Macabeo (35%), Xarel-lo (35%), Chardonnay (20%) and Parellada (10%). Aged for approximately 5 years on the lees.

Intense, deep lime green color. The nose feels rich and complex with nuanced aromas of toasty autolysis, some reductive smoky notes, a little bit of honey, a hint of tart green apples and a touch of brioche. The wine is bone-dry, rich and intense on the palate with medium body and ripe flavors of stone fruits, honeyed richness, some toasty autolysis and a little bit of cantaloupe. The wine feels structured and quite racy with its high acidity and the mousse feels ample and crisp. The finish is juicy, ripe and rich with bright, chalky minerality and juicy flavors of citrus fruits, cantaloupe, some herbal greenness and an autolytic hint of sweet nutty character.

A ripe, rich and nuanced Gran Reserva Cava that shows a bit more weight and ripeness than the leaner and more mineral Reserva de la Familia. Both are quite delicious and attractive, but I think that I prefer Familia's colder and more precise style just a notch more - however, the warm vintage 2009 might explain the particularly ripe style here. Nevertheless, both of these Juvé y Camps Cavas are great wines. This one is priced according to its quality at 28,90€.
