  • Open, perfumed on the nose - berry fruit, spices, slightly floral, earthy notes. On the palate still quite grippy, good fruit and acidity, nice mineral backbone, vibrant finish. Excellent. Drink or keep. 92-94

  • Tasted next to the 2012 Huber GG Bienenberg. This was qualitatively on par, but in a rather different style. This shows the warmth of the Winklerberg terroir, is more full bodied and broad, yet remains perfectly lively, zappy, ethereal and elegant. Again Heger displays top tier winemaking with this very 'German' feel coming through in spades. Intense, juicy Cherry notes, spices, smoky oak and red rose perfume. Again his GG's are not for the oak adverse, but the fruit quality is so high, that the wine carries it well. I love it. Highly recommended.
