White Truffle Dinner: 02 Musigny flight. So much to love in the nose here -- intense, concentrated perfume with gorgeous red fruit and florals. Rich and decadent on the palate, yet light on its feet. Wow. A great wine and the runt of the flight!

Fifteenth Annual White Truffle Dinner (Lake Bluff, IL): In Musigny 2002 flight. Dense fruit throughout with faint earth and mushroom hints. Lots of power on finish, still good complexity. These were served single blind, and fairly easy to identify. It's a rare flight where this is the laggard!

A beautiful wine from start to finish. Glorious, complex nose. On the palate, wonderful fruit. This just defines finesse. It could go on for years, but I see no reason to wait any longer.

Much better second bottle with lots of earthy tones, some roses. Good ripeness of the fruit, stays elegant though, nice mineralic finish. It got tired faster than we thought in the glass. Better to drink this up.
