  • A simple sparkler, at least after a decade, with notes of toast and green apple, pleasant acidity, and a very suitable match for fried chicken and an even batter match (oddly enough) for fried Brussels sprouts with a lime and fish sauce vinaigrette.

  • The wine looks yellow gold colored. It smells like light toast and apple. It tastes like apple. The body is light. The wine finishes short. The wine has medium acidity.

  • This is perfectly fine for what it is, a sparkling Niagara Chardonnay with a decent fruit profile, a layer or two of additional complexity, and a pleasant, actually quite elegant mouthfeel. So if you're doing brunch, go for it. The fruit is mostly apple and lemon, but there's also some pear, while honey seems to sweeten and thicken the fruit and biscuit wraps the fruit into a nice little blossom. And it is certainly sweet, though the acidity is quite stark, that major hit of lemon juice, and the bitterness coming late on the palate, even if not terribly well integrated into the whole package, does help balance things out a bit. So, sure, it's quite good, just not a terribly impressive value -- there are better options at and around $29 (in Ontario), whether from Ontario or elsewhere.
