  • In a great spot. Crowd favorite amongst other aged Brunellos on homemade brick oven pizza night.

  • Somewhat harsh when opened but after 30 minutes it smoothed out. Nothing special but a decent and enjoyable brunello, especially at a 33$ price point. Everyone liked this and it improved over time in the glass so I suggest at least an hour in a decanter. Might improve with a few more years in a cellar.

  • Subsequent notes on this wine from about 7 years ago. Medium reddish garnet in color with ever-so-slight amber notes at the edges. Full, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, raspberries & strawberries with overtones of floral notes of violets & earthy & dusty notes, herbs, spices, leather, minerals & a hint of cedar. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, raspberries & mulberries with herbs, minerals, cocoa, spices & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing & even at 12 years old, it should continue to develop further with additional aging.

  • Two hours in the decanter. There's a bronze tinge to the burgundy red color. Smells very fresh with lifting notes of strawberries and cherries mingled with brushiness, vanilla, and garrigue. Wonderful mouthfeel, owing to the balanced tannins and acidity, mixed with dried red fruits and tarriness. Long-ish finish. As with the last bottle, this wine becomes exceptionally silky and wonderfully integrated at 3 hours (if you can wait that long).

  • This bottle was much better than the last one a year ago. Decanted for a couple of hours. Light to medium weight with red fruits dominant. Shows its age with crimson edges, a bit of terroir, and mild acidity in the mid-palate. Easy drinking now, but maybe peaking at this point. Comparatively, found 2007 to be better.
