Rajat Parr said Charmes Chambertin would be “charming”. It almost feels like you’re doing something illegal by drinking this wine. Animalistic. Nutty. Nut husks. Just the barest touch of VAs. Paired with Duck Saucisson. Sour (sour af) cherry to start, mellows out a touch over a half hour in the glass (by a touch!). Never would have expected the nuttiness in burgundy but here we are. @ Francie

The 2013 Claude Dugat starts with a bit of reduction but then explodes with spice. Lots of blood, meat, and spice on the palate.
