Lovely Gig, all lovely flavors of the Rhone at a reasonable price. Black fruit, black cherry liqueur, warm baking spaces, cinnamon cake, graphite. A little heat kept this from scoring higher but did not ultimately detract from the enjoyment.

I am gaining more respect for this wine. It's not about the clean, full on olive-like fruit but for the structure which is fulsome but neither sinewy or brash. Quite impressive, with years in hand.

This one’s about composure and finesse. After 5-10 minutes out of the bottle it really came into its own, with body and perfume. Some minerality here compared to Hominis Fides, prob due to difference in terroir (marl & pebbles vs sand)...which to me is the signature taste of Gigondas. I would choose this over Hominis for that reason; the Hominis is an easier and more luscious drink but Claux has the minerality and complexity, asking to be taken more slowly and in smaller doses.

Compared with 10 months ago I feel more positive. Certainly the structure is lean and muscular, but I found the fruit more convincing this time. A meaty nose (?Brett), but interesting and not disjointed.

Not especially dark. Developed, delicate nose. Rather angular, alcoholic palate. Muted meaty, raspberry flavours. Can't decide if this is a wine that is all about structure and delicacy or whether it is too lean and alcoholic to make old bones.
