  The 87 is for how the wine pairs with food. I paired it with Pappardelle w. Short Ribs & Mushrooms. The acidity in the wine worked perfectly with the richness of the sauce (much as I expect an actual Italian wine to do). The spicy raspberry-ish nose is reminiscent of Pinot Noir and there’s a bit of it on the pallete as well. Fruity and mid-bodied, I’m enjoying it by itself, following the meal as well. Without food, a pass through an aerator really helps the drinkability.
