Won't win any awards for elegance, but for a weeknight pop n pour, why not. Dense purple with chubby legs in the glass. Almost Mourvèdre-like in the bouquet with meaty, plum notes. The palate is black fruits and spice. The Merlot (8%) peeks in and out. Not particularly noteworthy, and priced higher than you might expect. But solid. Unwinds a bit in the glass, so my rating might be conservative. (But still = Pass)

I picked this up at the Talley vineyard last fall. David and MRichman summed it up pretty good-- but this style really works for me. Opaque and tooth-staining- its got a dense mouth feel, has a sensation of sweetness and has dark fruits and candy apple on the palette, with lots of spiciness. Not sure of the alcohol content, but it feels on the hot side. We ended up finishing the bottle tonight, so I won't be able to tell you how it tastes on day 2 or 3. Its yummy. Almost into fruit bomb territory, which I tend to like.

Had a taste at a tasting. Spicy/oaky nose. Full-bodied palate typical for Paso. Unique/distinct candied red apple note on the palate. Oak influence is there but overall the fruit/spice blend make this tasty.

A beautiful Cab. Let it open up about an hour before consumption.

Pretty darn fine on day one and paired well with coffee and spice rubbed flat iron steak. Fell apart pretty bad on day two.
