Our first bottle was "insanely" good (for this price ... around 7,5 EUR) ! Silky smoth, tannins well integrated ... hm. maybe ... it reminded me more of an aged bordeaux than a rioja :) And yes - we had it with an asparagus (white) risotto. Maybe not enough acidity / too round, smooth for a steak... but i'm willing to try next time :)

This is insanely good Rioja for $13+ on @WineDeals. Not sure if it deserved a Decanter international trophy (which is actually a pretty big deal), but definitely is one of the best Rioja reds I've had for under $15. Delicious now, but has some life ahead of it yet. Tannins and oak are integrated now, and there is really good density and follow-through for the price. Lovely.

Crazy Rioja value. Dark cherry and cocoa dominate. There's some leather/tobacco/spice notes but they're in the background. Definitely in a fresher style.

Dark cherry and cocoa. Not much in the way of tannins. Good with BBQ chicken or ribs but won't hold up to a steak.
