I would have to say that I never expected to find a Tempranillo in Australia, and even if I had I would not expect it to be this good. Simplicity is the key to this wine and in keeping with that simplicity it is an amazing wine to drink with its raspberry and white pepper leading the way from beginning to end - I am hoping with a little age I'll get more interesting aromas and flavours from it, but for now it is delicious in its simplicity.

A vineyard not very far from Ben's house. Where this vineyard is is quite allot cooler and weather and less heat. Used be sold to Penfold's but not anymore. Clean on the palate, really structured, tight. Darn. '12 there were no grapes. Stalks without a berry. '13 was super thick skins, you could barely break the berry when you put it in your mouth. Darn that is structured. Both in acid and in tannin and doesn't feel acidified.

Dark garnet with blackish core. Nose of scorched earth, dark fruit, wood, quite uncouth. Dense palate, structured and tannic, soft tannins but overall a bit too rustic the whole show here.

Smoky, cedary, oaky, dried up, dusty, lacks fruit ... at least it is hiding in the background, but it never emerges ... Everything is dusty and dried.
Showing that screwcap can't save everything - went well with slightly burnt homemade / Pillsbury Chocolate chip cookies
