Dark light. New tire rubber on the nose. Pleasant black fruits and pepper; the rubber note in the nose is present throughout the tasting profile. It’s odd, but not as awful as you might think.

I tend to enjoy Southern Italian wines, but find Primitivos rather hit and miss, and this one missed. Like comments from other Tormaresca wines from Puglia, it had a strong alcohol taste, a bit too acidic, and overall, very harsh. The only wine I find from Puglia in most wine stores is Primitivo, but Negroamaro seems to be the main grape, and is native. I ordered other Southern Italian wines online off of Totalwine's website, so I'll see how good the other varietals are, but here in the US you're pretty limited to Primitivo and Nero d'Avola.

Pnp, very delicious primitivo. Solid QPR. Paired quite nicely with pasta and vodka sauce. Wasn't too heavy on the zinfandel (I'm not a huge zin fan). Notes of licorice and black berry. Really enjoyed. Had at a tasting at the semi-annual DiCarlo Wine & Craft Beer Festival (IL) so bought a couple bottles....definitely did not disappoint.

Darker core, some clarity, brighter maroon rim; raspberry, dark cherry, strong blueberry, spice, light to medium power through very fruit driven; lots of sweet fruit on the palate, dark cherry, blueberry, a little light on acidity, some grainy tannin on finish.

Yeasty bread notes along with dark cherries on the nose. Smooth round mouth feel with a medium finish and polished tannins.
